Variation Orders

Council may issue variation orders for the purpose of varying its zoning by-law in accordance with the provisions of The Planning Act and any person may apply for a variation order.

Applications for variation orders in both the Town of Beausejour and Rural Municipality of Brokenhead are submitted to the Brokenhead River Planning District.  Completed application form must be accompanied by any supporting information and/or materials pertinent to the application. 
 
A $310.00 application fee is also required at time of application with payment being made to the Brokenhead River Planning District by cash, cheque or debit.
Variation orders take approximately 4 – 6 weeks from the time the application is made.

Notices of public meetings regarding variation applications, conditional use applications, zoning and development plan amendments are posted in the Public Notices section.
 
The Development Officer may authorize a minor variance to vary any height, distance, area, size or intensity of use requirement in the zoning by-law by no more than 15%; or the number of parking spaces required by the zoning by-law by no more than 15%.
This process has an application fee of $155.00 required at the time of application and may be completed in approximately one week.
